Production process of modern, new-generation vinyl floors incorporates an advanced floor technology based on the use of a protective transparent layer topped with an additional high-protective UV-lacquer surface layer. These modern laminate floors possess advanced protective properties that bring many benefits as regards to everyday maintenance.
UV-lacquer based floor protection products Extreme and Titan possess lasting abilities and enable full finish of product surface used during the production process, resulting in an improved durability of an already robust flooring solution and providing easy maintenance. Superior production technology allows the floor to retain its original look for years and in the same time fulfill high ecological and health standards.
UV-lacquer and UV-free products
Please wait at least 72 hours from the moment of installation before first cleaning. To enable better glue drying time, particularly in the case of weak welded joint strength, optimal room temperature should be at least 18-20°C. The best way to ensure adequate protection to welded joints is to keep them secure for at least two hours from the moment of installation and avoid any contact with floor structure.
First-time cleaning
After carefully cleaning the room with a vacuum cleaner, wipe the floor with moist cloth soaked in mild detergent to help remove the dirt caused by installation of vinyl floor. Rinse the floor well with a moist cloth to remove detergent solution and then leave it to dry naturally.
Floor protection products
While UV-lacquer based products do not require polishing, use of UV-free products demands for application of polishing agents which are normally used in two layers. Application of the second layer is done only after the first one has dried, taking care that one layer is applied in horizontal and the other in vertical direction. Two-layer polish is the usual method for restoring the original shine to floor.
Regular maintenance
Cleaning the floor on a daily basis extends the life of your floor. Vacuum cleaning the floor will get rid of dust, and wiping it with a moist cloth will remove remaining dust particles and give it an extra shine.
To remove rubber and shoe sole stains, wipe the floor with moist cloth soaked in mild detergent. Easily-maintained cost-effective UV-lacquer based products allow for fast and easy cleaning and a complete stain removal.
Periodical maintenance
Floor maintenance method and frequency depend on different factors, such as method of use, transit frequency, location of vinyl floor (eg. its proximity to front doors, asphalt roads, and parking lots), furniture protection level (eg. means of transport of heavy furniture - furniture can be moved on cluster wheels or be dragged over the floor with or without protection covers such as underlay felt cloth, etc.). Another important factor is the floor colour and/or pattern: lighter tones demand greater care and higher maintenance frequency.
- UV-lacquer based vinyl floors do not require removal of the old and application of the new protective layer of polishing agents/protective emulsions. In order to clean the floor and retain high shine, first apply spray detergent and if necessary, perform careful mechanical cleaning of heavily stained surfaces with the help of polishing brushes/polishing device.
- UV-free vinyl floors demand a more complex procedure. First step is cleaning the floor with vacuum cleaner to get rid of dust. Second step necessitates the removal of the old layer of polishing agent with the help of polishing brushes/polishing device. Rinse the floor well with a moist cloth and apply two layers of polishing agent/protective emulsion.
Protection of laminate floors in everyday use
a. Protection from damages caused by heavy furniture
In order to secure adequate level of protection, it is necessary to isolate metal/wooden legs of heavy pieces of furniture with plastic caps with wider base to provide greater stability and decrease pressure.
Moving/rearranging of heavy furniture and/or utilities with sharp-pointed legs such as cookers, washing machines, refrigerators etc. can cause severe and permanent damage to vinyl floors. We recommend moving these objects with the help of underlay cloth or wooden boards.
Placing hot kitchen dishes/utensils or using sharp knives on the floor etc. should be avoided at all costs.
b. Protection from dirt-related damages
Interiors with direct connection to street, gardens, and other exterior structures are extremely vulnerable to damage caused by dirt, little rocks, pieces of shattered glass, and similar objects carried in from the outside.
Installing adequate doormats at front doors and building entrances will successfully solve the problem of inflicting permanent damage. For best results, choose natural fiber doormats without the protective rubber backing, ideal for moisture, dust, and isolation of abrasive particles/agents. Use of doormats will reduce the amount of dirt and minimize maintenance time.
c. Protection from moisture
If the floor surface becomes slippery in the presence of a lubricating contaminant such as water, remove the excess of water or other liquid and wipe dry the floor to help it restore slip-resistant properties.
Cleaning methods
Mechanic cleaning of the floor in order to remove dust particles, little rocks, and other dirt should be done with a broom or vacuum cleaner with soft floor attachment (soft brush or felt cloth).
Carefully wipe the floor with soft cloth soaked in cleaning substance. Rinse well with warm water to remove vinyl cleaner and wipe dry.
Never use strong detergents, chemicals, cleaning agents, rough abrasive cleaning powder particles, abrasive and/or wire sponges, etc. Doing so may result in permanent floor damage. Use of alkaline detergent concentrates that do not demand rinsing with water is not recommended. |
