Rooms equipped with different types of furniture in more than one colour and/or overly decorated, multi-coloured rooms impose the use of a solid, single-coloured carpet. However it is not necessary to choose a neutrally coloured carpet, as interesting effects can be obtained by combining/matching the carpet colour with the colour of walls or the colour of a single detail on the curtains.

Adding height to a room

The simple way for adding height to a room is mixing and/or combining different colours. Using darker tones for the floor, medium tones for the walls, and lighter tones for the ceiling, will visually do the trick.
